Rummy is a fun card game famous all over the world. It is a game where you need to be quick, smart, and focused to win, which makes it more challenging but also more entertaining.
In this game, you must try to get rid of all your cards before the other players, to collect the points they are still holding. Face cards are worth 10 points and number cards are worth their face value, this includes the Ace which is worth 1 point.
The game can go on for several rounds. The first player to reach 100 points wins.
How to play Rummy online
First, the cards are dealt. The amount each player receives at the start of the game will change depending if two, three, or four players are playing. The remaining cards are placed in the middle of the table. There are two piles: the reserve pile (face down) and the discard pile (face up) to where players will discard their cards.
You need to make groups of cards (melds) to get rid of them. There are two kinds of melds: runs and sets. Runs are three or more cards of the same suit in a row (e.g., 2, 3, 4 of Spades). Sets are three or more cards with the same number (e.g., 8 of Hearts, 8 of Diamonds, 8 of Clubs).
Once you place a meld on the table, any player can add to it on the following rounds, even you.
On your turn, you always need to follow the same pattern: (1) pick a card from one of the center piles; (2) create melds and/or add cards to the existing ones; (3) discard a card from your hand. Melding is always optional, but picking and discarding cards is mandatory.
You can discard any card except one taken from the discard pile at the beginning of your turn. You need to wait for your turn again to be able to throw it out.
Once the reserve pile ends, the discard one is put face down and replaces it. If the new reserve pile ends, the game ends in a draw.
